The sign at the camp along highway 97 (unknown)

The camp along highway 97, over the years, the highway grade has been raised by some 2-3 feet. In the 1950s and well into the 1980s, the highway was much more level with the camp's roads. Today the gate marks the east entrance of the tunnel to Dieppe Square.  (unknown)

Shot from the same spot as above but looking north, highway 97 is nothing more than a minor one lane road. The main road to Kelowna was in fact the Mission road facing the K & D Lines a little west of this position. A mere year later on July 19, 1958 the new floating bridge in Kelowna would open forever change Highway 97. In years to come the traffic would increase 10 and eventually 100 fold. (unknown)
