Tony and Norma Cowling who visited VACSTC on July 27,
2008. They had supper in the officer's mess and attended the muster parade
that night. They were brought to the camp by Lt Mike King. Tony has
written a book called My Life With The Samuri from his experience spending
44 months in a Japanese POW camp in Indonesia. He had only been in the RAF
for six weeks before his plane was shot down and he was captured. Tony
spent two years following his experience in the war at VACSTC as a Driver
Instructor (1969-1970) and another two as a Captain in the early 1960s. -
