Skaha Bluffs

Located a few kilometers south of Penticton, this world class natural climbing site is perhaps one the best climbing sites for cadets in all of BC. Plenty of challenges lie ahead for any adventure course cadets taking on the many rock faces.

In order to achieve such remarkable photos Wayne Emde and Capt Kopan both have to don the same safety gears the cadets and staff wear in order to lower themselves down the rock faces, there is no easy way! (VACSTC, Wayne Emde)

This day in Canadian Military History...

28 July 1918
One hundred and fifty men from the 16th Battalion (Canadian Scottish) launch a successful raid on the German trenches in the Vimy sector of the front.

28 July 1943
Canadian troops clear the Sicilian town of Agira after heavy fighting in and around the heights of Monte Crapuzza. Troops from the Seaforth Highlanders enter the town to a warm reception from the local population, but sniper and machine-gun fire persist from the retreating Germans.
