Thank you. Thank you to everyone who made this project so successful this summer. Thank you to all the contributors - Capt George Picken, Capt Amanda Jones, 2Lt Francisco Escobar (remarkable photos Francisco!), Lt Joel Klein, Capt Chris Gerbrandt, Capt Cameron Thompson, 2Lt Matt Jensen and most especially Wayne Emde. Thank you also to Maj Russ Lacey, Terry Whitty and the League office in Ottawa, LCol Al Dengis and LCol Terry Kopan for all the support and encouragement you have provided. I'm grateful so many individuals shared the same desires in showcasing VACSTC as a centre of excellence. I hope cadets, parents and staff enjoy this year's photo album for many years to come.

This day in Canadian Military History...

20 August 1720
France's native allies in Acadia, the Abenaki and Micmacs, strike the English fishing settlement at Canso (N.S.), killing several residents and carrying away £20,000 in fish and merchandise.



20 August 1918
U-156 surfaces and commandeers the steam trawler Triumph in Canadian waters. The crew is allowed to take to their lifeboats, and will land at Canso, N.S., early tomorrow.
