Inside Echo's barracks. Barracks' life is just one of many aspects of camp life. The positive aspects learned here will stay with a cadet for his or her whole life.

C/CSM Stephanie Therrien is Delta Company's Sergeant Major. She is spending her first summer at Vernon but is no stranger to the cadet program. She spent the first 5 years of her cadet career with 2647 Royal Canadian Regiment RC(Army)CC in Oromocto, New Brunswick and has recently transferred to 2289 Royal Canadian Artillery RC(Army)CC in Victoria, BC. Previously she spent 5 summers as a course and staff cadet at Argonaut ACSTC in Gagetown, NB. She finds the biggest difference between Vernon and Argonaut is the amount of trees and shade in Vernon compared to the complete lack of trees and shade in Argonaut. "This camp is much more beautiful with so many flowers and bushes" She commented. The greatest impact cadets has had on her life is that it taught her English, a francophone child until joining cadets at age 13, she started learning English from her friends in 2647 RC(Army)CC and at camp. "I was failing English in school until cadets, then during cadets, I improved and passed the class at school. Cadets is the only reason I'm fully bilingual"
