19 Platoon, Echo Company on their way to their first training period after breakfast.

Meanwhile 4 Platoon Alpha Company is on day 3 of the alpine expedition being conducted at the Cathedral Mountains south of Penticton some 150 kilometres south of the training centre. Cdt Kyle Musyowski 3064 Rocky Mountain Rangers RC(Army)CC, Williams Lake, BC and his section stopping for a water break before the final push to the bivouac site. Each cadet is carrying about 19 kilos of equipment in their packs.

Back at camp, C/Sgt Justin Silver leads 23 Platoon Foxtrot Company through the first basic cadet drill competition on Sicily square in the evening. 


CWO Brian Anderson and Lt Donna Mayer on their way back to the company office. Staff often work well into the evening finishing off their busy schedules.


Cdt Tyrone Cattleman watches C/Sgt Junior Chuang practice the flute. C/Sgt Chuang is member of 819 RC Air Cadet Squadron in North Delta, BC and one of five air cadet staff cadets in Bravo Company this summer.


Not only is C/Sgt Chuang a gifted musician, he is also a talented juggler with the devil sticks.


Evening at the camp can be quite enjoyable, the camp's large trees were planted mostly in 1941-42 and are now beginning to truly mature, giving shade to all.

A Japanese submarine, I 26, shells the lighthouse and wireless station at Estevan Point, in British Columbia, inflicting minimal damage. The action marks the only direct enemy attack against Canadian territory during the war.

HMCS Athabaskan fires the Royal Canadian Navy's last salvoes of the Korean War, shelling Chinese positions on the mainland near the island of Mu-Do.
