C/MWO Mark Smith, 2277 6th Field Engineer Squadron RC(Army)CC Squamish BC. C/CSM Smith has been an army cadet 6 years in October. This is his 5th summer in Vernon, he also spent a the summer of 2003 at RMNACSTC on the LD&C Course. C/CSM Smith - "Cadets is a life for me, it's not a 9-5 job for me, you wake up every morning and it's the whole day, you're always into it. It's kids teaching kids, I love the fact that kids can teach other kids, it's not done anywhere else." He's graduating from the cadet program March 19, 2006 and he's going to be applying for the regular force as a combat engineer. C/CSM Smith - "Winning the pennant was possibly the best memory for me this summer. With hard work comes the reward. It was many long nights of hard work and cleaning, it didn't matter whet they were from or who they were, if they wanted the pennant and were willing to put the time in they all came together and a s a team they accomplished what they thought couldn't be accomplished, Charlie Company winning the pennant. It's living your job, I love it! There's nothing that has set me straighter than cadets it's kept my focus."
