0700 hrs, barracks clean up.

Meanwhile up at Foxtrot Company, Cdts Alex Key 2136 Canadian Scottish Regiment RC(Army)CC, Victoria, BC and Alex Cutler 2277 Engineers RC(Army)CC Squamish, BC, are blackening their boots after a day of training.
OCdt Dorothy Wong, 25 Platoon commander Foxtrot Company is filing paperwork at her desk in company headquarters.

U-156, a converted German mercantile submarine, attacks the schooner Donrfontein in the Bay of Fundy.
2 August 1944
Canadian troops continue to press the Germans south of Caen. The enemy is still offering a good resistance around the town of Tilly-la-Campagne and repeated Canadian attacks are driven off under heavy fire.
