Later in the evening, the weekly Friday night parade begins with the officers waiting on the edge of the parade square.
With the battalion formed up, the officers march on taking their places.

12 August 1756
The Marquis de Montcalm opens fire on the English strongholds of Ft. Ontario and Chouaguen (Oswego, N.Y.) with a siege battery of 80 guns. These eastern forts are soon evacuated in favour of the main stronghold across the river.
12 August 1918
Although the Battle of Amiens has ground to a halt after 4 days of successful advances, two more Canadians win the Victoria Cross in local actions. These are in addition to the eight VCs won by Canadians over the past three days.
