Leaving the Ranch, the view south to Winfield and Kelowna, the training area at the Ranch is approximately 1500' above the valley.

The English settlement of Wells (New England) is attacked by French and Mission Iroquois raiders, who leave 39 dead and take just as many prisoner.

Sgt. George Tissington, a native of Edmonton, Alta., is with the American forces in Vietnam. Today, he and a comrade hold off 200 Viet Cong while the men of his squad are picked up by helicopter. Tissington is one of thousands of Canadians serving in the American forces during the Vietnam War.
