Vernon Army Cadet Camp
The "Rock" portion of the CLI course was held at Eagle Rock about 30km north of Vernon. Over 4 days, many aspects of rock was taught: rappel, climb, chimney, high angle rescue, etc. On the forth day, the cadets sand staff were trucked to "Graduation Rock" back in Vernon, situated about 500 metres east of the current abseil site. Here, the cadets had to prove they could complete all the requirements of the course in a grueling 3 hour test.
