The Sword of Honour was donated to Vernon Army Cadet Camp in 1976 by members of 8th Recce Regt Association to recognize the very best course cadet each summer. No expense was spared. A solid case It was awarded to top course cadet 1976-89 and starting in 1990 was awarded to the top staff cadet. On the sword case are engraved the names of every winner. It is a great privilege to be nominated and an even greater honour to be awarded the sword. It is one of the more important highlights of the final parade every summer. Many a winner have gone on to greater goals in life.
