For a cadet, an overseas exchange can be the highlight of the
cadet career. Having completed NSCE and been one of the top candidates
on the course is reward enough, but then to also take part in one of the
trips to UK or Europe is a remarkable experience. Also included are the
Outward Bound Courses in Wales and Scotland. In the late 1970s to early
1990s the CFE flyover was perhaps the crown jewel of the exchange
program, though technically not an exchange it was more of a
summer training camp but alongside soldiers of 4 CMBG. A
wide variety of exchanges have existed since the early 1960s.
