1943-1968
Clear Lake, Manitoba was home to the basic cadet camp from approximately
1943 to 1968. Army cadets from the prairie provinces and NW Ontario attended 2 week
camps in July and August every year. Some years the cadets from Alberta
would attend Vernon and return a few years later to Clear Lake. The camp
closed in 1968. Today all that remains of the camp is one of the wooden
huts that served as the messhall.
