History -   

The Corps was originally formed 12 Oct 1916 as Georgetown High School Cadet Corps. It was sponsored by North Halton High School Board and affiliated with Lorne Scots (Peel, Dufferin & Halton Regt). It disbanded 21 Feb 68. 

The Corps reformed 1 Jun 73 as Lorne Scots Cadet Corps and was sponsored and affiliated by Lorne Scots (Peel, Dufferin & Halton Regiment). Letter 1300-6-676 dated 30 Nov 79 states that the Georgetown Optimist Club will assume co-sponsorship.
