History -
2966 71 Legion Army Cadet Corps was formed 1 Jun 79 and was sponsored by Branch 71, Royal Canadian Legion, Fort Erie and affiliated with 56 Fd Regt RCA. In the 1982 annual inspection report the Corps was placed on probation due to a lack of qualified instructors and cadets. Letter 1085-11-4 (DCOS Ops) dates 29 Aug 83 extended probation until the 1984 annual inspection. Letter 1085-11-4 (DCOS Ops) dated 10 Oct 84 again extended probation until the 1985 annual inspection.
CF 790 96/97 says this corps is placed on probation for numbers for one year with progress reports turned in during Dec and June before further action is taken.
