History -
This Corps was formed 1 Jan 62 as the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery Cadet Corps, sponsored by and affiliated with the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery CA (R). affil.: Royal Canadian Horse Artillery, Jan 1, 1962. A message (Unclas Cdts 338) dated 26 Mar 73 states that the Corps is under co-sponsorship with 2 PPCLI and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 2. The Corps was placed on probation (no records) and probation was cancelled 1 Jan 82 (letter 1085-11-2 (SSO Cdts) dated 5 Jan 83 refers). Message D Cdts 2049 dated 30 Aug 84 changed affiliation to 3 RCR and designation to Royal Canadian Regiment Army Cadet Corps. Because of this change the sponsor also changed to 3 RCR with Legion as co-sponsor. Eff 24 Aug 70 designation changed to 2701 2 PPCLI.Princess Patricia's Cdn Light Infantry and sponsor changed to 2nd Bn PPCLI. Eff 11 Jul 96 sponsor changed to Kiwanis Club of St James (D Cdts Adm 637 refers).
