History -
This Corps was formed 10 Jun 47 as 2294 Lake Superior Regt (Motor) Cadet Corps, Fort William, Ontario. affil.: Lake Superior Regt (Motor), Jun 11, 1947. It was sponsored and affiliated with Lake Superior Regiment (Motor) CIC CA RF. Disbanded 21 May 51. Reformed 22 May 51 and known as 67th Light Anti-Aircraft Regt, RCA CC. affil.: 67th LAA Regt (Manitoba Monted Rifles)RCA, May 23/51. Affiliated with 67th Lt Anti-Aircraft Regt (Manitoba Mounted Rifles). affil.: 118th Med Bty 40th Med Regt RCA, Jan 1, 1955. Effective 1 Jan 55 redesignated 118 Bty 40th Med Reg Cadet Corps. It was sponsored by Ortona Royal Canadian Legion, Branch ll3. Effective 1 Apr 64 the Corps redesignated 40th Med Regt CC and affiliation - 40th Med Arty Regt. A letter, CC 1040-12/0, CC 2001-12/2294, dated 27 Oct 65 changes affiliation to Port Arthur Service Battalion CA, M and redesignated Corps to 2294 Lakehead Service Battalion Cadet Corps. Effective 19 Dec 73 redesignated 2294 Ortona Legion Cadet Corps.
Msg D Cdts 5 162 011122Z May 00 authorizes change of sponsor to: Army, Navy, and Air Force Veterans in Canada as the sponsor for this corps.
