This Corps was formed on 5 June 1946 and designated as #2271 Wadena School Cadet Corps. Affiliation with 53 Heavy Anti Aircraft Regiment RCA was authorized effective 13 July 1948; 53 Medium Regiment RCA effective 1 January 1955; and 53 Field Regiment RCA 12 April 1960; and to it's present affiliated unit, 10 Field Regiment RCA in June 1964. The Corps was re designated as #2271 Pipestone Cadet Corps effective 1 June 1983 and the home location of the Corps was changed to Kelvington. The Corps is sponsored jointly by Branch #19 Royal Canadian Legion, Kelvington, Branch #23 Royal Canadian Legion, Lintlaw, and Branch #214 Royal Canadian Legion, Rose Valley. Wadena School Cadet Corps was formed 5 Jun 46. It was sponsored by the Wadena School. Effective 13 Jul 1948 the Corps became affiliated with 53rd Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regt, RCA. affil.: 96th Indep Med Bty RCA, Jan 1, 1955. In Jun 69 the Corps reaffiliated with 10th Fd regt RCAC (M). Effective 1 Jun 83 (message D Cdts 543) the Corps redesignated as Pipestone Army Cadet Corps. It relocated to Kelvington. It changed sponsor to Branch 214, Royal Canadian Legion, Rose Valley with Branches 19, Kelvington and 23, Lintlaw being co-sponsors. Eff 15 Jan 98 the sponsors changed from Lintlaw and Rose Valley Legions to Wadena and District Lions Club (D Cts Adm 013). It was assumed that the sponsorship from Kelvington RCL was also cancelled, based on the requesting documents from the Region.
