History -   

Corps was formed 15 Dec 1944 under the sponsorship of the Merritton High School. In Oct 1946 the corps became affiliateed with the Lincoln and Welland Regiment. On Dec 11, 1950 the affiliation was taken over by 44th field Regiment. 1971 Report lists the 56th Field regiment as affiliated unit. In Dec 1971 disbandment was authorized due to lack of support from the sponsor. H.Q. 12-M-136
