History -
1838 Maple Ridge High School Cadet Corps was formed 4 December 1941. On Jan 1, 1956 the Corps became affiliated with the Westminster Regiment. In 1966 the new sponsor requested and was granted a change of designation to 1838 Maple Ridge Legion Cadet Corps. Also at that time the new sponsor was Branch 88, Royal Canadian Legion, Maple Ridge. In 1970 affiliation was assumed by the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps. In 1971 the affiliation was again assumed by Royal Westminster Regiment. The Corps was placed on probation at the beginning of the year 1984 due to low numbers but the problem was quickly rectified and probation was removed. (1984 annual report refers).
