History -   

Corps was originally formed 21 Nov 1941 under the sponsorship of the 17th Hussars Recce Regt. In 1953 authority was seeked to change the name of the corps to 1826 17th Hussars Cadet Corps since the Regiment had dropped the Recce from their title but the name remained the same since the Regiment did not change theirs. In Nov 1958 the 6th 17th Hussars becme the Royal Canadian Hussars (Montreal) and the corps was redesignated accordingly. In sept 1971 sponsorship and affiliation were assumed by the 1er Bataillon des Services du Quebec and the Corps was desiganted accordingly. The Corps is presently inactive.
