History
This Corps was originally formed 12 Mar 1908 as 180 the Edmonton Public School Cadet Corps. It became a Battalion in 1909. In 1911, it was called the 180th Cadet Regiment Edmonton Public Schools, and in 1913, Edmonton Public Schools Cadet Regiment. In 1921, the Regiment consisted of an incredible 3 Battalions with 31 Schools! The Regiment was disbanded 18 April 1933.

History
This Corps was originally formed 12 Mar 1908 as 180 the Edmonton Public School Cadet Corps. It became a Battalion in 1909. In 1911, it was called the 180th Cadet Regiment Edmonton Public Schools, and in 1913, Edmonton Public Schools Cadet Regiment. In 1921, the Regiment consisted of an incredible 3 Battalions with 31 Schools! The Regiment was disbanded 18 April 1933.
Eff 20 Nov 1940, 180 Edmonton Public School Cadet Corps was reformed consisting of five high schools: Strathcona, Eastwood, Westglen, Victoria and Edmonton High Schools. In 1944 recommendation was made to disband 180 and it split into three separate Corps. Thus 180 became known as 180 Victoria High School Cadet Corps. affil.: Western Command Signal Regt, RC Sigs, Dec 7, 1947.
Effective 28 Mar 1950 the Corps disbanded and reformed eff 20 Apr 1950 under 20 H.A.A. Regt. The unit was designated as 180 20th Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regt. On Mar 4, 1955 the Corps was redesignated as 180 96th Indep Med Bty CC. On Jan 1, 1962 authority was granted for redesignation to 180 20th Medium Artillery Regiment CC. In 1965 the Corps became known as 20th Field Artillery Regiment Cadet Corps. In a message Unclas Cdts 031 dated 13 Jan 1976, change of sponsor to Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans Association. In 1976 the Corps was placed on probation. Probation was cancelled 1 Nov 1977 (1085-15 (SSO Cdts) dated 16 Nov 1977 refers). In 1980 the Corps was again on probation until 1981, and was extended until 1982. Probation was removed 1 Jan 1982 (1085-11-2 (SSO Cdts) 5 Jan 1982 refers).
