History -
This Corps was formed 15 Nov 39 as The Kirkland High and Vocational School Cadet Corps. It was affiliated with the Algonquin Regiment since 1942. affil.: The Algonquin Regiment July 10, 1942. In 1948, the name was changed to Kirkland Lake Collegiate & Vocational School Cadet Corps. On 1 Jan 51 it redesignated as the Rotary Cadet Corps. It was sponsored by the Rotary Club. In March 1976 sponsor changed to Branch 87, Royal Canadian Legion, Kirkland Lake. In an Ontario League letter dated 5 Apr 77 a request to change designation to Kirkland Lake Legion Cadet Corps was granted.
