History -
The Corps was formed 24 Nov 24 as Oakville High School Cadet Corps under the sponsorship of the School Board and affiliated with Lorne Scots. possible The Royal Regiment of Canada Cadet Corps. affil.: Lorne Scots (P.D. & H.R.) July 10, 1942 The school changed names, hence Cadet Corps became known as Oakville-Trafalgar High School Cadet Corps in 1949. redisig: Oakville-Trafalgar High School Cadet Corps, Nov 2, 1949 In 1971, 2607 Thomas A. Blakelock High School Cadet Corps of Oakville amalgamated into this corps (was formed 1 Sep 57). Effective 1 Mar 72 the Corps redesignated as Oakville High Schools Cadet Corps. In the 1975 annual inspection report, the Corps was placed on probation until Dec 75 and then extended until 31 Jan 76 at which time probation was removed. DCdts Admin 1778 of 15 Nov 89 changes designation to Lorne Scots Oakville Cadet Corps. DCdts Adm 3989 of 22 Nov 91 changes sponsor from Halton Board of Education to Oakville Historical Society.
