This Corps was originally formed 31 Dec 1900 , and was assigned No. 72 in 1904. Militia Order 38 dated 25 Jan 1913 changed it to No. 11. (No. 11 had previously been given to St Mary's College Cadet Corps, Montreal, Quebec, formed 9 Apr 1880 and disbanded 13 Nov 1909). This corps was designated No. 11 Strathroy Collegiate Institute Cadet Corps. It was sponsored by The Strathroy Collegiate Area Board and affiliated with 3 Bn, RCR (London and Oxford Fusiliers). It disbanded 1 Sep 1966.

11 Strathroy Cadet Corps was reformed 1 Jan 1973 and sponsored by the Recreation Committee of the Town of Strathroy. The unit became affiliated with 4 RCR (London and Oxford Fusiliers) Militia. Effective 15 Jan 1974 change of sponsor to Royal Canadian Legion (Sir Arthur Currie Branch 116).
