History -
This corps has roots going back to a Militia Unit in the early 1860's. Trinity College School Drill Association was formed in 1867 at Weston. Headquarters transferred to Port Hope in 1868, no further record yet found. Trinity College School Drill Association was formed 5 Nov 1880, given #14 in 1904, and disbanded in 1905. (#14 given to Quebec corps in 1909.) No 96 Trinity College School Cadet Corps was formed 1903. Two corps open (at least on paper) at Trinity College from 1903 to 1905! In 1947 there were 183 Sr cadets & 28 Jr cadets on strength. Chief Instructor was S.J. Batt. Eff 31 Jan 1948 (CAO 145/50) corps disbanded.
96 Trinity College School Cadet Corps was reformed 3 March 1988 (DCdts Msg 0405 7 Mar 1988). It is presently sponsored by the Trinity College School and supported by CFB Trenton. D Cdts Admin 1308 of 19 Jul 1988 changed the designation to Trinity College School Rifles Cadet Corps. Eff 01 Jan 1993 (D Cdts Adm 0042) of 14 Jan 1993 this corps was disbanded.
