History -
The number 748 was originally assigned to a corps in St. Mary's, Ontario, formed in 1918, and disbanded in 1933.
This Corps was formed 16 Sep 74 and designated the Markham District Veterans Association Cadet Corps. It affiliated with the Governor's General Horse Guards. Its sponsor is the Markham District Veterans Association. According to the 1980 annual inspection, due to insufficient numbers, the Corps was placed on probation until 31 Dec 80. In the 1981 annual inspection, probation was extended until 1982 annual inspection. Letter 1085-11-4 (DCOS Ops) dated 22 Apr 82 removed Corps from probation.
