History -

This Corps was originally formed in Sep 1915 as the Beauceville Industrial College Cadet Battalion, later becoming a corps. 4 Coys. In 1937, the Corps became 619 College du Sacre Coeur. Eff 1 Jun 56 the Corps was disbanded due to a lack of qualified instructors.
In 28 Sep 57 the Corps was reactivated under the sponsorship of the College and retained their same title. The Corps became affiliated with Le Regiment de la Chaudiere. In Apr 61 the College was relocated and redesignated as Ecole Secondaire St Francois thus the Corps adopted the name of 619 Corps de Cadets Ecole Secondaire St Francois. On 13 Jan 67 the school once again was relocated and a request was made by the sponsor to change their designation to "Corps de Cadets de Beauceville. In 1975 there was a change of sponsorship to Club Optimiste Beauceville.
In 2000, after a review of submitted documents by the community justifying that cadet activities continued to exist during the period 1956 to 1957, it was decided to recognize that army cadets have existed continuously in the community since 1915 with no broken period.
