History -
#526 was first given to a corps in B.C. 1914-15. This Corps was originally formed in 15 Feb 1917 as 526 100th Grenadiers Cadet Corps. The Corps was disbanded 13 Nov 1931.
526 Winnipeg Grenadiers Cadet Corps reformed 1 Oct 1946 under sponsorship of the Winnipeg Grenadiers and redesignated 526 The Winnipeg Grenadiers Cadet Corps. On 12 Nov 1968 affiliation was changed to Winnipeg Service Battalion.
Effective 8 Apr 1970 sponsor was changed to Hong Kong Veterans of Canada. Effective 29 Aug 78 change of sponsor to Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans in Canada Winnipeg Unit No. 1. Letter to corps regarding history sent 14 May 1991.
Eff 17 Feb 97 sponsor changed to Winnipeg Service Battalion Association.
