History -

Port Perry High School Cadet Corps was formed on 28 Nov 1898 (GO 108/1898) and given No 41 in the Militia Lists of 1904. After 1913, the corps was not mentioned in Militia Orders until 1949, however, this is not an indication of inactivity, and corps records indicate the continued operation of the corps. In 1949, No. 41 Port Perry High School Cadet Corps became affiliated with the Ontario Regiment (RCAC). It was sponsored by Ontario County Board of Education. It's sponsor became the Durham Board of Education pre 1983. On 3 April 1998, Branch 419 Royal Canadian Legion was approved as a co-sponsor of the Corps.
