3066 LdSH(RC) Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps (RCACC), located in British Columbia, was stood up by Nick Lebisis and Joanne Ledis in January 2000 under the umbrella of 2458 Rocky Mountain Rangers, Revelstoke, British Columbia. Captain Kelly March was the first Commanding Officer of the Cadet Corps. Since 1 September 2001, the Regiment is proud to have 3066 RCACC as its latest addition to its list of affiliated cadet corps. The Golden Corps was presented with the scarlet red and myrtle green Strathcona flag, which is now carried on parades today. The Golden Cadet Corps is a proud recipient of much sponsorship from the local area but its official sponsor is the Golden Rotary Club. The Corps utilizes the support of the community from sources such as the Golden Legion and The Golden District Rod and Gun Club. Thanks to The Golden District Rod and Gun Club office space for the Cadet Corps has been made available. The Corps is now well established with two officers, five civilian instructors and 36 cadets. The corps has been involved in sending many of their cadets to the Vernon Cadet Camp in the short two years that they have been established. Cadets from the Corps have attended a variety of courses including Cadet Leader Instructor, Cadet Leader, Band and the two-week Basic Course. Some of the Golden cadets have even been involved in taking an Advanced Training Course in White Horse, Yukon. Also included in the accomplishments of the Corps would be their involvement in the combined cadet corps training that ran in May 2002. The corps involved included: the Cranbrook, Creston, Fernie, Golden and Revelstoke Cadet Corps. The wide array of activities that were instructed to the cadet corps included abseiling (repelling), target practice, marksmanship shooting, archery, map and compass, field craft and an obstacle course. The success in this activity has drawn the attentions of the participating corps to attempt to make it an annual event. Parades 3066 LdSH(RC) RCACC parades Mondays, at September to June, 6:30 to 9:30 pm at the Civic Centre in Golden, British Columbia.
