2991 Elliot Lake Army Cadet Corps was formed 1 Feb 83. It was sponsored by the Kinsmen Club of Elliot Lake and affiliated and supported by CFS Falconbridge. Message D Cdts 538 dated 2 May 85 changed affiliation to 26 (North Bay) Service Battalion. A change of sponsor from Kinsmen Club of Elliot Lake to Branch 561 - Royal Canadian Legion effective 17 Feb 87 (D Cdts Msg 306 refers). Eff 18 Oct 95 corps was placed on probation due to a lack of qualified staff and a reduced level of training. Probationary status extended until 1997.

D Cdts msg D Cdts 5 194 160929Z May 00 states official disbandment of Cadet Corps eff. 18 April 2000.
