This Corps was formed 15 Jan 81 as Royal Canadian Legion Cadet Corps. It was sponsored by Branch 39, Royal Canadian Legion and affiliated with 2nd Battalion The Irish Regiment of Canada. Effective 26 May 87 Branch 39 remained the Primary Sponsor and Branch 514 (Manitoulin) became Co-Sponsor. Designation of Corps changed from 2976 Espanola RC Legion Cadet Corps to 2976 Espanola and Manitoulin Legion Army Cadet Corps (D Cdts Msg 1013 refers).
