 2888 Corps de Cadets de l'Abitibi-Ouest was formed 1 Sep 65 under the sponsorship of La Commission Scolaire Reginale Lalonfr and affiliated with 9e Escadron du Genie (Rouyn). In Apr 70 due to the disbandment of the affiliated unit of 9e Escadron du Genie, the affiliation transfered to Val d'Or. Eff 3 Aug 78 affiliation changed to 9th Field Squadron RCE.
