2781 Powell River Cadet Corps was formed 16 January 1965 under the sponsorship of Branch 164, Royal Canadian Legion, Powell River Westview and affiliated with the Irish Fusiliers of Canada. In 1969 affiliation changed to The British Columbia Regiment (DCO).
