This Corps was originally formed in 1 Nov 59 under the sponsorship of the Loyal Edmonton Regt (4 PPCLI), same affiliation. It was designated Vermilion Cadet Corps. Date not known when the sponsorship was assumed by the Royal Canadian Legion (provides financial assistance) or Vermilion Recreation Commission (provides accommodation). On 6 Dec 72 (D Cdts 1665) the sponsors requested that the Corps be redesignated as 2645 Loyal Edmonton Regt (4 PPCLI). Loyal Edmonton Regt (4 PPCLI) became the affiliated unit. Support Base changed to CFB Calgary Det Wainwright eff 1 Mar 96.
