This Corps was formed in Sep 1956 under the sponsorship of the Corner Brook Amalgamated Regional High School and was designated as such. affil.: Royal Newfoundland Regt, Sept 1, 1956. In Nov 1967 authority was granted to redesignate the corps as Herdman Collegiate Cadet Corps. With the amalgamation of schools in the area the sponsor's name is Bay of Islands/St. Georges Integrated School Board. In '82 the Corner Brook Kinsmen Club joined with the Bay of Islands - St. George's Integrated School Board as a co-sponsor of the corps.
