This Corps was formed in Sep 1956 under the sponsorship of St. John the Baptist High School. affil.: Royal Newfoundland Regt, Sept 1, 1955. It became affiliated with the Royal Newfoundland Regiment the same year. In Nov 1970 sponsorship was assumed by Whitbourne Sports and Recreation Commission and the Corps was redesignated as 2584 Whitbourne Cadet Corps. According to a CF 790 the Whitbourne Athletic Recreation and Cultural Association inherited sponsorship of the corps, although there is no authority for them.
