History -

This corps was originally formed July 1910 and was designated "256 The Stanstead College Cadet Corps", Stanstead, QC. No records found at HQ prior to Feb 1944 when the corps was reformed and redesignated as 256 Stanstead College cadet Corps and became affiliated with 46th Field Artillery Regiment. In May 1971 the sponsor requested disbandment of the Corps due to lack of support from staff and students. Efforts were made to find another sponsor but to no availa dn authority was granted to disband the corps eff 30 Oct 1972.

The Corps was formed 01 Mar 1976 as the General Wingate Branch Cadet Corps. The affiliated unit was the Royal Regiment of Canada. A request was made 31 Mar 76 to change the affiliated unit to the Toronto Scottish Regiment. The corps disbanded 01 Dec 76.
