This Corps was formed on 9 March 1954 under the sponsorship of St. John's Rotary Club of St. John's, Newfoundland. It was affiliated with Headquarters Newfoundland Area. affil.: HQ Newfoundland Area, Mar 9, 1954. affil.: 166th (Newfoundland) Field Regt RCA, Sept 1, 1956. On Mar 1 1961 affiliation was changed to 1 Bn. Royal Newfoundland Regiment. Sponsorship changed to Branch No 1 of the Royal Canadian Legion effective 1 Nov 93. Address was updated 7 June 99 (to include 141 Torbay Road, RPO MacDonald Drive)
