This unit was formed 31 Aug 1953 and designated '6th Armoured Division RCASC Cadet Corps. It was supported by and affiliated with '6th Armoured Div RCASC Column (RF). Eff 1 Jan 1955 it was re-designated,' No 6 Column, RCASC Coy. On 11 Jan 1967 a Board of Inquiry met at Winnipeg to investigate the feasibility of change of Sponsor and Designation to' The Winnipeg Svc Battalion. oN the 18th Dec 1968 the application was made for change of affiliation to 2479 Wpg Svc Battalion Cadet Corps affiliation unit Wpg Svc Battalion
