History -   

This Corps was formed 1 Feb 53 as 2467 Westlock Cadet Corps (19th Alberta Armoured Car Regt RCAC), sponsored by 'A' Sqn, 19th Alberta Amoured Car Regt, RCAC. affil.: 19th Alberta Dragoons, Feb 1, 1953. redisig: Westlock Cadet Corps (19th Alberta Armoured Car Regt). Effective 1 Jan 55 the Corps redesignated as the Westlock Cadet Corps under the new sponsorship of Branch 97, Royal Canadian Legion, Westlock. Authority granted 1 Feb 67 to change affiliation to 154 Coy RCASC (M). In the 1977 annual inspection report the Corps was placed on probation due to low numbers until 31 Dec 77. In 1976 there was a change of affiliation to 15 (Edmonton) Service Battalion (no documentation). Effective 12 Jul 84 the Corps was placed on probation due to low cadet strength for a period of probation of not less than six months (1087-11 (Det Comd) dated 12 Jul 84 refers).
