Formed effective 1 October 1952 (CAO Supp 317/53) and designated #2451 St. Michael's School Cadet Corps. The Corps was affiliated with 17 Light Anti Aircraft Regiment RCA effective 1 October 1952; 44th Medium Battery RCA on 1 January 1955; and 44th Independent Field Battery RCA effective 30 October 1961. History -
Effective 1 September 1978 the Corps was re activated and affiliated with The North Saskatchewan Regiment and re designated #2451 Duck Lake Cadet Corps. On 1 April 1982, the Corps was re designated #2451 James Smith School Cadet Corps. The Corps was disbanded effective 26 June 1984. This Corps was formed 01 Sep 1978 in Duck Lake (now known as Beatty) under the sponsorship of St. Michael's Indian Residential School. Affiliation was with 17 Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RCA. In Oct 1961 affiliation was changed to 44th Medium Battery and in Mar 1965 to 44th Independent Medium Battery. No record available on chang eof sponsorship. In Sep 1967 authority was granted for a change in sponsorship from Board of trade to Duck Lake Indian Residential school. In April 1968 the corps became affiliated with 1 North Saskatchewan Regiment. The corps was disbanded 01 Sep 1972. The corps reformed 01 Sep 1978 as the James Smith School Army Cadet Corps under the sponsorship of the School Board Staff and Band Council. It was disbanded 26 Jun 1984.
