History -
49th Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regt, RCA Cadet Corps was formed 28 Apr 48. affil.: 49th Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regt (Sault Ste.Marie Regt) RCA , Apr 28, 1948. Effective 1 Sep 55 the Corps changed affiliation to 49th (SSM) Medium Anti-Aircraft Regt RCA and became known as same. Effective 10 Dec 62 the Corps redesignated as 49th (SSM) Field Artillery Regiment Cadet Corps. On 31 March 1998, sponsorship was changed to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25 and the Sault Ste Marie Lions Club
