History -
This Corps was originally formed 23 Oct 1909 and known as The Saguenay Cadet Corps. In 1930, the designation changed to 221 The Academie de Chicoutimi Cadet Corps. In 1943, the Regiment du Saguenay became the affilated unit. On 1 Jun 50 due to inactivity the Corps was disbanded.
15 Oct 53 authority was granted to reform the Corps as 221 Corps de Cadets Academie Commerciale under the sponsorship of l'Academie Commerciale de Chicoutimi with affiliation with Le Regiment du Saguenay in 1955. 10 Nov 60 change of designation to Corps de Cadets Ecole Secondaire Dominique Racine. In 1978 there was a change of sponsor (annual inspection report) to Comitee Civil 221, but no documentation was forwarded. According to FMC in 1979 La Commission Scolaire de Chicoutimi remained as sponsor for scroll presentation at 1979 annual inspection. Eff 03 Apr 95 the corps designation changed to Corps de Cadets Polyvalente Laure-Conan. Eff 11 Feb 98, the Corps designation was changed to 221 Corps de Cadets Chicoutimi.
D Cdt msg 311 250939Z JUL 00 authorizes the Designation and Sponsor change to Corps de Cadets 221 de Chicoutimi, Centre Laure-Conan Commission Scolaire Rives-Saguenay.
