History - The number 202 was originally assigned to The Sydney Cadet Corps, formed in Nova Scotia 15 May 1909. The Corps was disbanded 13 Jan 1917.
On 11 Apr 1917, 202 Amherstburg High School Cadet Corps was formed. It was sponsored by Amherstburg High School Board and affiliated with the Windsor Regiment. affil.: 2nd (R) Bn Essex Scottish Nov 11 1942. affil.: 22nd Recce Regt (Essex Regt), Nov 10, 1948. affil.: Windsor Regt (22nd Armd Regt) Jan 1, 1955. Effective 1 Sep 1969 the Corps disbanded.
This corps was re-activated 1 Sep 1977 with Royal Canadian Legion Br 157 sponsor. Affiliation 1st. Battalion RCR (London & Oxford)
The Corps reformed 1 Sep 1977 as 202 Fort Malden Army Cadet Corps. It was sponsored by Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 157 Amherstburg) and affiliated with 1st Bn, RCR.
The Corps added a sponsor, Royal Canadian Legion - Branch 338, was added 17 Feb 2000.
