Formed 3 July 1943 (CAO Supp 306/43) and designated #1979 The Corressess Indian Cadet Corps. The Corps was re designated on the 24 January 1944 as #1979 The Cowesses Indian Cadet Corps. History -   

1979 Canadian Grenadier Guards Centennial Army Cadet Corps was formed on 1 May 79 and sponsored by South Shore Protestant Regional School Board and affiliated with the Canadian Grenadier Guards. The corps was allocated the number 1979 and called "Centennial" in recognition of the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Army Cadets.
