History -   

Formed on 10 June 1943 (CAO Supp 277/43) and affiliated with 53 Heavy Anti Aircraft Regiment RCA effective 13 July 1948. Affiliation was changed 1 July 1955 to 53 Field Regiment RCA and the present affiliation with 10 Field Regiment RCA was authorized in June 1969. The Corps is sponsored by Division #45 Sturgis School Board and Kinsmen Club of Sturgis. 1976 Sturgis Cadet Corps was formed 10 Jun 43 and sponsored by Sturgis Public and High School. Effective 13 Jul 48 the Corps became affiliated with 53rd Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment, RCA. affil.: 53rd Field Regt RCA, Jan 1, 1955. This affiliation was cancelled 11 Apr 60 and effective 12 Apr 60 the Corps affiliated with 53rd Field Artillery Regiment. At some time the Corps became affiliated with 64th Field Battery (10 Fd Arty Regt RCA). In 1978/1979 the Corps became co-sponsored by the Sturgis School Division No. 45 and Branch 302 of the Royal Canadian Legion. Message D Cdts 2178 dated 12 Oct 84 changed sponsor to Kinsmen Club of Sturgis and also the designation to Kinsmen Club Army Cadet Corps. Henceforth the Corps became an Open Corps. Message D Cdts 080 dated 21 Jan 85 changed designation to Sturgis School Army Cadet Corps and sponsor to Sturgis School Division No. 45 with Kinsmen Club of Sturgis as co-sponsor. Eff 31 Aug 95 corps was disbanded.
