This Corps was formed 20 Mar 1943, designated Palmerston High School Cadet Corps, Palmerston, Ontario, sponsored by Palmerston School Board. affil.: 2/100 (R) Field Battery RC Artillery Apr 26, 1943. Effective 18 Dec 1952 the Corps was re-designated 'Norwell District High School Cadet Corps (The school was re-named by Board of Education from Palmerston High School to Norwell District High School). affil.: 21st Field Regt RCA, Jan 1, 1955. Effective 1 Sep 64 Corps became affiliated with 21st Fd Arty and effective 23 Nov 64 redesignated Norwell District Secondary School Cadet Corps. Effective Sep 85 (D Cdts 1241) the corps was redesignated to Norwell Army Cadet Corps

A brief history of 1943.
During the war years, No. 1943 Norwell RC Army CC was formed and headed by the then Principal of Norwell, Capt E. C. Gray, and assisting was Sgt Major Husher, Royal Canadian Regiment, London, Ontario. Many members of the cadet Battery have served in the Canadian Armed Forces from WW2 onward.
In old films, kept at Norwell, they show the Cadet Corps parading with the bugle band marching past a Reviewing Stand of Ranking Officers of the Canadian Armed Forces and school teachers.
